Cyber.Bet Cup Summary

Like most CS:GO events, Cyber.Bet Cup had two stages: Groups and Playoffs. The Group Stage was played in the double-elimination format and the 8 participants were divided into 2 groups of 4.

Group A

  • Movistar Riders
  • Natus Vincere Junior
  • Hard Legion Esports
  • Mustang Crew

Group B

  • Team Heretics
  • Syman Gaming
  • Nordavind
  • SMASH Esports

In Group A, Movistar Riders looked very dominant from the start. First they demolished Na’Vi Junior (2 – 0, 16 – 6, 16 – 6) and then they managed to defeat Hard Legion Esports. They did lose a map against this second team, but that was it. The other two maps were won with ease (16 – 9, 16 – 10), so it was obvious for everyone that this team will likely do well in the Playoffs too. And it did, until the Grand Final.

In the same Group A, Natus Vincere Junior finished 2nd after losing the first match to Riders but beating Mustang Crew (2 – 0) and Hard Legion Esports (2 – 1) in the next two matches. Almost every single map was challenging for them to win, so once again, it was obvious that this team would start as an underdog in the Playoffs. And that’s exactly what happened. Going up against Heretics in the Semifinals, Na’Vi Junior lost two maps in a row and was eliminated. The team did not get run over as some might have expected. But it lost at a difference of 5 and 4 rounds respectively.
