Why knowing the best teams is essential for your CSGO betting predictions
But we’ve found that some of the following teams have usually given us some consistency in our CSGO betting.
Our rundown of the best CSGO teams ever
Making a shortlist of the best CSGO teams of all-time was never going to be an easy task. We’ve seen great recent form from respected esports organisations like Gambit, OpTic and Vega Squadron, but these teams haven’t quite managed to make the cut.
So whilst our rundown of the best CSGO teams is probably going to get a lot of criticism from pages about CSGO betting on Reddit, we think that the following ten esports organisations have given us the best CSGO teams of all time.
There is no denying the fact that the current Fnatic team are easily amongst the all-time greats. Thanks to the efforts of top CSGO players like the dependable KRiMZ and the wildcard star, JW, it seems that Fnatic are just going from strength to strength.
Much of the attention undoubtedly falls on the phenomenal skill of ex-players like Olofmeister, but even underrated stars like Flusha have managed to contribute to Fnatic’s incredible run of form.
But what really makes Fnatic formidable is the way that they work together as a team. And whilst many people look back to 2015 where the team won DreamHack Winter, ESL One: Cologne and ESL One: Katowice, it’s clear that Fnatic are only just getting started.
SK Gaming are one of esports’ oldest organisations and they have managed to become key players in the CSGO scene. And when you have CSGO legends like FalleN and Coldzera in your squad, it’s clear that SK Gaming are one of the best CSGO teams around.
Just take a look at SK Gaming’s triumphant victory over Astralis in last year’s BLAST Pro Series. This showed a team who are able to work together to provide formidable opposition on almost any map.
And whether it’s SK Gaming’s commanding performance in the ESL Pro League Season 6 Finals, or their epic victory in the ESL One Cologne 2017, it’s clear that this Brazilian side are one of the best around.
Whilst Astralis have only been around for a handful of years, they have quickly shot up the rankings to become real players on the CSGO scene.
Much of the attention on the team tends to fall on the incredible skill of their star player, dev1ce, but it’s the way that CSGO aces like dupreeh and Xyp9x always seem to be in the right place at the right time that makes Astralis such a formidable side.
The Danish team first came to our attention when they managed to shock the esports world with a triumphant victory over OpTic Gaming in the Esports Championship Series in 2016. And once they managed to destroy FaZe Clan in the Intel Extreme Masters World Championship last year, we knew that we were in the presence of one of the all-time greats.
Although FaZe Clan have been big players in the Call of Duty scene, there is no denying the fact that they are one of the CSGO all-time greats.
Whilst the side narrowly lost out to Cloud9 in 2018's Eleague Major: Boston tournament, their decisive victory over Team Liquid in the ESL One: New York competition in 2017 has shown us that they have what it takes to go the distance.
It’s easy to point to the sheer skill of stars like Olofmeister in pinpointing the current run of FaZe Clan success, but when you have the unpredictable aggression of CSGO aces like GuardiaN, then you know that this team are always in with a chance of a massive victory.
Ninjas in Pyjamas
The Swedish esports organisation, Ninjas in Pyjamas, have always been a dominant force in CSGO. Whilst many people hark back to the 2012-2013 era where the team won the Electronic Sports World Cup in emphatic fashion, it’s clear that Ninjas in Pyjamas still offer plenty of value for your esports bets.
Much of this upsurge in fortune rests with talented players like f0rest and GeT_RiGhT, but there’s a good sense of harmony in the team that has helped them consistently stay in the top five of the world rankings.
And with 2017 seeing Ninjas in Pyjamas successfully defending their IEM Oakland title in the face of strong opposition from FaZe Clan, it seems that we are set for a renaissance from this iconic CSGO team.
The French team EnVyUs have had a rollercoaster time recently. But thanks to the enduring efforts of their team captain, Happy, they have always managed to provide punters with a degree of assurance in placing their esports bets.
Most people will remember the team’s decisive victory in the grand finals of the DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca in 2015. And whilst EnVyUs haven’t always managed to recreate this magical moment, they truly deserve their place in our shortlist thanks to the skill of their AWPer, SIXER, and their top rifler, xms.
Although it remains to be seen whether their recent merger with G2 will work in their favour, it’s clear that we should all keep an eye on this highly rated French side.
Virtus.pro recently hit rock bottom after struggling to compete even against low tier teams and getting absolutely dominated by any well known organisation. Thankfully, after hitting rock bottom, the only way is up. The Virtus.pro organization recently made changes to their roster, dropping long time players pashaBiceps and NEO, whilst also acquiring some younger Polish talent. Interestingly, Virtus.pro has also brought back Snax into their lineup after his incredible performance under the mousesports organization.
Going forward in 2019, Virtus.pro has a completely different logo, a new lease on life, and an entirely new lineup of players. They have the strongest of the two old timers staying on board; Snax and byali, who will be leading the way for younger players snatchie, TOAO and MICHU.
What's great about this new lineup is that nobody knows their true potential, but for the time being, we assume that most people will avoid betting on Virtus.pro in CS:GO matches because of the previous lineup's terrible performance during 2018. Once the new lineup gets in some practice together, this could be an excellent underdog team to bet on.
If you're curious, superstar CS:GO player and loving dad pashaBiceps will be focusing on his streaming career for the time being, and it may be some time before we see him back on a professional counterstrike team, if at all. It's not all bad news, though, pashaBiceps' charismatic characters fits perfectly in a streaming career and we'll expect he'll bring more value there than he did on his old lineup. Sorry, pasha. It's nice to see Snax back on the Virtus.pro lineup, as well. He is without a doubt the strongest Polish player in the scene and other international teams have constantly headhunted him. With him being back on a Polish team, he'll be able to roll back into speaking his mother tongue, which may bring him and his team even more benefit than we first saw when he was on mousesports.
The North American esports organisation, Team SoloMid, was recently bought out by Misfits in early 2017. And it was sad to see the end of one of esports’ best loved CSGO sides.
After all, who could forget Team SoloMid’s 2015 season that saw triumphant wins in the FACEIT League and the Fragbite Masters competition?
So whether top players like SicK, Relyks and ShahZaM can restore their past glories remains to be seen, but it is clear that few could match Team SoloMid when they were at their peak. For now, take a look at the current Misfits lineup, as the CS:GO TSM team has been shut down for the time being.
Cloud9 had an excellent run in early 2018 as they claimed the ELEAGUE Boston Major trophy in their home country, but they've fallen to pieces since then. Constant player drops and roster swaps has put Cloud9 in a very dangerous situation. No matter how hard they try, there's no denying that Cloud9 will never reach their peak again until they lock down a strong roster of players that can actually play alongside each other.
Interestingly, there is still hope for the Cloud9 organization. Cloud9 has made the decision to move away from an all-American team and they've started to bring in players from other regions. Currently, the Cloud9 roster includes flusha, kioshima, RUSH, autimatic, and youngster Zellsis. It's certainly a very surprising change for Cloud9, but they may be an excellent betting opportunity once they've had some time together. kioshima and flusha are CS:GO veterans with multiple tournament wins under their belt collectively. Both RUSH and autimatic have had plenty of experience too, and their synergy is incredible. Let's not forget Zellsis, he's new on the scene but he has shown some great potential. For now, Zellsis is on trial, perhaps until Golden joins back, or Cloud9 find another suitable candidate.
The Ukrainian team, Natus Vincere, have managed to provide some reasonably consistent form throughout the history of CSGO gaming. The team currently boasts a strong squad with players like Crystallize, GeneRaL and Lil all working together to keep Natus Vincere in the highest reaches of the world rankings.
Although the team aren’t a failsafe betting option – as their dismal performance in the Frankfurt Major 2015 tournament proves – you should never discount the creativity and determination of this Ukrainian side.
And with a commanding win over Virtus.pro in the Adrenaline Cyber League in 2017, it looks like Natus Vincere could be a strong team to watch.
Who didn’t quite make our shortlist of the best CSGO teams?
It’s incredibly difficult to narrow the greatest CSGO teams down to just ten selections. Many CSGO fans will be shocked that we didn’t include old-school teams like VeryGames or even Luminosity in our shortlist.
Similarly, there’s no denying the fact that teams like mousesports, Gambit and Space Soldiers have been putting in some excellent recent results.
But whilst it pains us to omit top CSGO sides like North, Renegades, and Heroic, we had to keep it limited to just the ten teams who provide you win a decent chance of getting a good return on your CSGO bets.
